Cranleigh Lodge is a small, homely nursery registered to provide care for up to 30 children.

Positioned between Christchurch and Bournemouth town centre, in Tuckton, Cranleigh Lodge offers convenient quality childcare from 8am-6pm, Monday - Friday, all year through (except Bank Holidays and a week between Christmas & New Year) for children within the local vicinity as well as for children who live out of the immediate area, but whose parents work locally.

Our aim is to provide the best full and part day care for children aged between 8 weeks and 5 years within a fun, stimulating and loving environment, offering outstanding opportunities for all children to learn through play and develop to their highest individual potential.

What we do...

At Cranleigh Lodge we offer a wide variety of activities suitable for all of the children in our care, taking into consideration different ages and abilities.

Our caterpillars (0-2 years) have their own new upstairs space with various activities all aimed at children's individual needs. There is also opportunity for the children to have rest time in a quiet, relaxing environment in the sleep room.

Downstairs, our Butterflies (2-4 years) have a wide range of activities available, with each room offering its' own excitement, from numeracy, construction and ICT in the green room, role play and small world play in the purple room, messy and sensory activities in the yellow craft room to chilling out with books and puzzles in our new sensory chill out room.

Outside in the 2 gardens we offer an extensive range of toys and equipment from climbing frames to bikes and trikes, from hoops to balls and sand and water to name but a few. On dry days our activities are often extended into the garden so the children can get as much fresh air as possible (safely protecting them from the sun of course).

Jo Jingles, a music group and puppet comes in weekly (optional extra) and he has become very popular with the children over 2. Each week he takes the children on a "journey" and teaches them different sounds, instruments and rhythms at the same time as having lots of fun!

We try and go off the premises when we can whether it be to the local shops and amenities, the park or the river to feed the ducks. However our ratios are much higher on these occasions, of either a 1:2 ratio or at most a 1:3 ratio, depending on the age of the children.

We have regular parent/carer evenings (twice a year) which have become very successful and popular. Our child free evenings give parents and carers the opportunity to chat to staff, enjoy a drink with other parents/carers, as well as see what is always on offer to the children, which might not always be seen at drop off and collection times. We also often have a topical speaker.
