The Activity Centre in the New Forest... Experience, Learn, Develop for Disability Groups

Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre is a safe site set in 65 acres of beautiful grounds on a hill with sea views between the villages of Burley and Bransgore in the New Forest, Hampshire.

As a registered charity (UK Youth), we are an independent, non-profit organisation, fully committed to providing fun educational and activity holidays and breaks for school and youth group residentials, fun family holidays, training and development, large events, birthday parties, school holiday Fundays and in our peak times there are drop in activity sessions for all guests to have a go on our activities (depending on availability).

We also hold many events throughout the year for the local community with our Centre open all year round to visits from any groups either for a week, weekend or just a day; no matter what age or ability.

Avon Tyrell is a Learning Outside the Classroom (LotC) approved centre.

Facilities for Disability Groups

The site is fully accessible with wheelchair ramps fitted in all lodges, a pathway leading down to the lake specifically for wheelchair users, specialised equipment (hoists) fitted at the lake and swimming pool, extra harnessing equipment for the climbing tower as well as specialised equipment that may be needed in the house or lodges during your stay-please pre book when confirming your booking with our bookings team. We have an all-terrain wheelchair, Boma wheelchairs, portable hoist, a flat bed and in our premium 12 berth lodge, there is a built in ceiling hoist

As we are a fully accessible site, with fully trained instructors and great facilities available, we have been lucky enough to have held weekends specifically designed for young people with additional needs and their families since 2010. Each weekend allows Hampshire based young people with additional needs and their families to have the opportunity to enjoy our unique residential, fully supported adventure activity weekend while staying in our beautiful old country house or lodges, Avon Tyrrell.
