This year's 'Business Come Dancing with Wessex Cancer Trust' competition takes place on Thursday 30th June at the Hotel Piccadilly in Bournemouth. The competition sees local business people taking to the dance floor to prove that they are as dynamic a dancer as they are in the workplace. Eight Dorset business men and women are now in training with their professional dance partners, to perform their chosen dance in front of a live audience in a bid to win the 2011 trophy and raise funds for local charity, Wessex Cancer Trust.
One of the contestants taking part is Debbie Tarrier of the Vehicles Strategies Club. Based, in Bournemouth, Dorset, VS Club helps businesses save up to 50% on their motoring costs and is now a successful and lucrative franchise opportunity too. Debbie explained her decision to take part in the competition: "I got involved with my 'VS Club hat' on and wasn't sure what to expect, but really liked the idea of having fun all for a great cause. I had no idea how much training I was in for! I also never got to choose the dance - I was 'given' the Argentine Tango, as I wasn't there the night we were due to meet our partners and choose our dances! However, it is in aid of the most fantastic charity and I do love the idea of strutting my stuff on the dance floor, which may all I manage. I'm looking forward to it and dreading it all in one, so I'm just going to try and enjoy it and hope I don't fall over!"
The glamorous judging panel comprises of:
Peter Scott - Dorset Chamber of Commerce Lizzie McManus - The Coast/Breeze radio Suzanne Hancock - dance teacher Stefan Booth (actor) from Eastenders, Dancing on Ice etc and wife Debbie Flett (model)
Tickets to the gala evening are only £25, and include a Buffet and dancing. The evening commences at 6.30pm on Thursday, 30th June at the Hotel Piccadilly. For more information please contact Karen Rhys at Wessex Cancer Trust on 07545 145776 or email
