Local Convicts Raise Money for Lewis Manning Hospice!

If you were wandering around Bournemouth town centre on March 8^th, you may have spotted a number of strange looking convicts on Old Christchurch Road. Between 9.00am to 10.30am, Lewis Manning Hospice sent four police offers to arrest six local business people.

The willing victims were from Frettons Solicitors in Christchurch, Bournemouthtown.co.uk and Tasty Marketing and, of course, the fund raising team from Lewis Manning Hospice.

Once all of the arrests had taken place, we were transported by police escort to The Print Rooms in Bournemouth where we were then tasked with raising as much money from local businesses, friends and family as we could in order to get our release bail. In a two-hour window, we managed to raise over £3000 for the Hospice – the total figure has yet to be confirmed.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that helped the team at Bournemouthtown.co.uk raise over £1200 to help us make bail. A particular thank you goes to local businessman and entrepreneur, Richard Carr, who donated a very generous £300 towards our cause.

Lewis Manning Hospice is currently looking to raise £2.5million towards building a new hospice. They provide free respite care to adults throughout Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, so here at Bournemouthtown.co.uk, we feel that this is an excellent charity to be involved with.
