 Poole tourist attraction, Compton Acres, has launched a photography competition to celebrate Dorset’s gorgeous landscape in the lead up to World Photo Day.

 

To commemorate World Photo Day celebrated on the 19thAugust one of Dorset’s finest historical gardens, Compton Acresis hosting an amateur photography competition. Open to people across the county, the competition aims to promote Dorset’s beautiful scenery and horticulture. The landscape photography competition will take place throughout the summer, ending one week before World Photo Day, on Saturday 11th August.

Organisers are encouraging photography enthusiasts to snap spectacular images of Dorset’s outdoor scenery, capturing water features, floral displays or other outdoor elements. Entrants can immortalise sceneries ranging from ornamental gardens, town parks, their own gardens or Compton Acres mesmerizing displays.

 

 

The competition will be judged by  Sheila Brown, President of the Parkstone Camera Club. Courtesy of Compton Acres, the prizes include a Family Annual Pass for the first prize, two Single Annual Passes for the second-place prize and a Cream Tea for the third-place prize.

Donna Cooper, Marketing Manager at Compton Acres, said:

“We are thrilled to host a competition which will both promote photography talent and Dorset tourism. This is a challenge for people across the county to go out and test their photography skills whilst enjoying our county’s gorgeous surroundings. We hope to receive many photos, no matter if they are taken on a camera, mobile phone or tablet.”
