Could this be Bournemouth's best kept secret? Boscombe Spa was actually the original Spa destination, first established during the reign of Queen Victoria back in 1867.

Surf Reef

Boscombe Spa is officially home to Europe's first artificial Surf Reef which will offer 10-15ft waves for over 150 days each year.

Boscombe Pier has been restructured and now offers the perfect observation platform to back in the sun and watch the surfers enjoy the reef.

Supported by surf shops and surf schools, the reef will attract surfers from around the world to Boscombe Spa and is key in the regeneration of Boscombe Spa Resort.

The Reef brings with it 50 new surf pods replacing old style beach huts, secure locker facilities and new food areas offering a choice of restaurants, cafes and live entertainment. There will be plenty of options to choose from!

Boscombe Surf Reef brings a massive regeration to Boscombe beach with alfresco dining, shops and much more, giving this stretch of beach a very trendy atmosphere and a great place to soak up the rays and the views!

After a long anticipated wait, the Boscombe Surf Reed was officially launched on Monday 2nd November. Following the RNLI trainging on 1st November, the reef is now open for surfers.

Just 800m from Boscombe beach is the shopping area. Boscombe Spa offers an eclectic range of shops, cafes, coffee bars, clubs and restaurants.

The pedestrian style high street provides a safe shopping area for all of the family to enjoy. Thursdays and Saturdays are market day in Boscombe, attracting a range of stalls from market farmers through to home wares and gifts.

Restaurants include everything from Brazilian, South African, Vegetarian and Spanish through to Chinese, Asian and traditional English fayre.

Boscombe Spa is also home to the Opera House, one of the largest live entertainment venues on the south coast with a busy program all year round, attracting private functions through to international acts.
