Da Vinci's, Poole Quay

One wet and rainy night in January, we were invited to Da Vinci’s Italian Restaurant on Poole Quay to write a review for Bournemouthtown.

With the rain pouring down and the wind souring, stepping outside was not really at the top of my list. However we battled through the elements and we were extremely pleased that we made the effort!

Vinncenzo, co owner of Da Vinci's greeted us with a warmth that is usually kept for close friends and relatives. We instantly felt at home. The checked table cloths and traditional rustic surroundings add to the atmosphere and really make you feel like you are in a traditional Italian Restaurant!

Da Vinci's was opened by Vinncenzo and Nicola back in 1993 and has been serving the most mouth watering traditional Italian cuisine ever since. Da Vinci's is in a fabulous location over looking Poole Quay. With the Pizzeria on the ground floor and Da Vinci's Warehouse above, Da Vinci's can cater for all occasions - from an intimate meal for two or business lunch to a birthday or wedding celebration.

The atmosphere is fabulous and the food is even better! On our wet and windy Sunday night, Da Vinci's was surprisingly busy - a testament on it's own that people are prepared to leave the comfort of their own home to chance the elements!

With a large Gin and Tonic to start, we soaked this up with traditional bread sticks and home made garlic butter. Starters quickly followed, Baked Garlic Prawns with Parmesan crusted edges for me and Mussels in a white wine sauce for Paul. Both dishes were amazing.

Our main courses were as equally divine. I went for the steak with Parmesan shavings on a crisp bed of rocket whist Paul opted for the langustines and scallops linguine. With a platter of deserts to finish, our trip to Da Vinci's was not just a meal out, it was a whole night of delicious dining in a setting to suit!

Da Vinci's is definitely worth a visit and we will definitely be going back!
