Record-breaking Audiences for Jack and the Beanstalk

BH Live, the leisure and cultural trust which manages and operates the Bournemouth Pavilion, is pleased to report record breaking audiences for the 2011 Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime at the Bournemouth Pavilion which delighted nearly 40,000 people during the 2011 festive season.

In addition to the bumper attendances, the popular show which featured an all star cast including local favourites Debra Stephenson (The Impressions Show & Coronation Street) and Chris Jarvis (CBeebies), Kate Weston from Wave 105, Nick Wilton (EastEnders) and Brian Capron (Coronation Street), also raised over £8,000 from customer donations for the Variety Club Children's Charity which will be used to purchase two new wheelchairs.

Chris Jarvis said; "Thanks to everyone at the Bournemouth Pavilion for another smashing pantomime. Our theatre is one of the best in the country - a fabulous building to work in with an equally stunning workforce. Behind the scenes and in every department, the Bournemouth Pavilion has the talent to make any show a wonderful experience for the audience and visiting artistes. Very best wishes for a great line up of shows for the rest of 2012!"

Steve Piper, BH Live Head of Venues added: "We are thrilled that so many boys and girls came along to see our festive Pantomime and the positive feedback we have had on the whole production and theatre team has been just brilliant. It takes a lot of people and hard work to put on a successful show and we are all very proud that so many people came to the Bournemouth Pavilion this year to be entertained and have a great time."

Looking forward, the programme at the Bournemouth Pavilion continues to be packed with even more shows to delight audiences with forthcoming productions including Cinderella on Ice which runs until 8 January and Willy Russell's award winning production Blood Brothers which starts on the 17 January.

It has also been confirmed that UK Productions will return to the Bournemouth Pavilion for the 2012 pantomime season, with Sleeping Beauty due to go on sale soon.
