Miss Dorset 2017 – now Miss England Social Media queen joins fellow award winners to help Victims of Sri Lankan flood disaster during sightseeing trip !


A team of Miss England beauty queens where invited by Premier Ceylon in Sri Lanka on a luxury one week holiday for winning their awards and ended up helping the Sarvodaya Movement,  a charity based on the island which helps natural disasters.  During the visit the girls visited an orphanage run by the charity & packed relief bags to help affected areas to help the victims displaced by flooding caused by the unusual extreme weather conditions.  Over 130k Sri Lankan people have lost their homes and 18 people have lost their lives due to the recent monsoon rainfall on the island.

The founders of Sri Lanka’s oldest charity , which this year celebrates 60 years where delighted to have help from the Miss England Beauty queens.

Dr AT Ariyaratne & his wife Neera greeted everyone & proudly gave the beauty queens a full tour & presentation of the incredible life saving work & then took them around to visit an orphanage bringing the girls to tears with the sight of the small babies & toddlers being cared for .

“It has been such a wonderful experience visiting Sri Lanka, & staying at the Ozo & Amari Galle hotels . My highlight was being able to help with the flood relief and learning about Sri Lanka’s beautiful culture. I have learnt so much and wouldn’t hesitate to visit Sri Lanka again” .

All Miss England award winners qualified for the trip to Sri Lanka at Resorts World Birmingham in the 2017 Finals. The trip was sponsored by Premier Ceylon in partnership with Ratnaloka Group of Companies, with due thankfulness to Mr Gamini Wijegunarathna, the Chairman of the group, a Sri Lankan hotelier & leading gemologist backed by the Sri Lankan Tourist Board and host of other service partners .

The Sri Lankan leg of the Miss Premier Ceylon contest was postponed due to the bad weather conditions – this was due to take place on Saturday 26th May at the Amari Galle Hotel in the presence of Miss England Stephanie Hill.

During the one week trip the Miss England award winners stayed at the Ozo Columbo and Amari Galle hotel and also took part in the Gio Moda fashion show at Ballys Casino and a photo shoot at visited a Sea Turtle Sanctuary.

The 2018 Miss England final is being held in two parts

Part one – Resorts World Birmingham will host the sports & MesheMe
Top Model round

Part 2 will be held at Kelham Hall in Newark on 4th September the new Miss England will go forward to Miss World in Sanya China later this year which has a top prize of $100k .
