Classic Sounds of the Sixties can be heard at the Regent in Christchurch, when the iconic revival band, The Zoots, make their first visit to the Centre on Friday 20 July 7.30pm.

The Zoots were formed in 2009 to play the legendary sounds of the 1960s with a contagiously authentic style. The Zoots’ five talented young musicians are lead singer Jamie Goddard, backing vocalist and percussionist Harriet Lowther, guitarist Benjamin Jones, drummer Simon Small and bassist Tommy Lloyd.

The Zoots’ repertoire includes classics from the songbooks of ‘The Beatles’, ‘The Rolling Stones’, ‘The Who’, ‘The Kinks’, ‘The Beach Boys’, Chubby Checker, Roy Orbison and many, many more in an evening that will make every pop picker want to dust off their vinyl and revive those 45s!

The Zoots have thrilled more than 500 live audiences since they started touring at world-famous venues like the London Palladium and Old Trafford. The band is also famous for headlining at The Goodwood Festival, Eastbourne Bandstand and major musical events.

The Zoots have taken their inimitable Sixties sounds to four continents, playing to delighted audiences in: Cuba, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Norway, Montenegro, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and of course, the United Kingdom.

Critical acclaim for The Zoots has come thick and fast and includes: “Always impressive” (The Stage), “Amazing!” (Stamford Corn Exchange), and “Fantastic! (Save The Date Magazine).

Lead singer Jamie Goddard is a platinum-selling singer-songwriter in his own right with Warner Brothers and has played with such iconic ‘60s legends as ‘The Searchers’ and ‘Gerry and the Pacemakers’. Meanwhile, drummer Simon Small is a twice-nominated contender for Blues Drummer of the Year and has performed on an album with Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin.

It has been a great 12 months for The Zoots. They headlined at the Twinwood Festival in Bedford and were then featured in the book, ‘Guardians of Rock and Roll, ‘ by world-famous photographer Michael Randolph, who was the official photographer to The Rolling Stones!

So why not get in the groove, dust off the satin ruffle shirt and those crushed velvet trousers and bop to the beat of the Sounds of the Sixties with the Zoots at the Regent in Christchurch on Friday 20 July 7.30pm.
