Tasty partnership boosts heart charity
The South’s biggest independent hospitality group has proven it’s got a whole lot of heart – by partnering with Wessex Heartbeat.
Delicious Dining, which owns 14 popular bars, restaurants and hotels across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset, has pledged to support the cardiac charity throughout 2018.
It will provide the charity with dozens of vouchers for its venues, which will be raffled as prizes at events to raise money for the worthy cause. It will also host the charity’s annual sponsors’ dinner at its flagship Grand Café venue in Southampton.
Staff will get on board with supporting Wessex Heartbeat too and Craig Firmager, manager at Banana Wharf in Ocean Village will kick it off by taking part in Ride London for Wessex Heartbeat in July.
Delicious Dining’s Managing Director Steve Hughes commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the Delicious Dining Group to be involved with Wessex Heartbeat. We are really looking forward to help make a difference by raising much needed funds and I know that Craig is eager to take part in his challenge next month.”
John Munro, chief executive of Wessex Heartbeat, added: “As a charity that receives no regular guaranteed government funding we rely heavily on local businesses and individuals to support our life-changing work. We’re absolutely thrilled that Delicious Dining is working with us throughout 2018 to help improve cardiac health across the region.
“It may only be summer but our sponsors are already looking forward to the dinner at Grand Café at the end of the year!”
