Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park has joined forces with the local handmade aromatherapy cosmetics company, Bomb Cosmetics, to raise money for the SEA LIFE Trust.

To celebrate Europe’s only colony of fairy penguins moving to Weymouth SEA LIFE, Bomb Cosmetics are selling their ‘Pick Up a Penguin’ Bath Blaster from Friday June 22 for a limited time only. The Blasters will be on sale at for £2.99 with 10 per cent of the cost going to the SEA LIFE Trust.

Bomb Cosmetics is a cruelty-free, vegan-friendly brand which specialises in a range of handmade bath treats, body scrubs and essential oils, using only the finest natural ingredients. You can recycle the packaging through your local council kerbside recycling scheme. The packing materials used to protect the products are also made from corn starch which is biodegradable, instead of polystyrene which is commonly used.

The SEA LIFE Trust shares the same ethical aims as Bomb Cosmetics and works hard to achieve its vision of a world where the oceans are protected. The trust runs global campaigns and projects to highlight the need for plastic-free oceans, sustainable fishing and effective marine protected areas.

Tamsin Mutton-Mcknight, general manager of Weymouth SEA LIFE, said: “We are really pleased to be partnering with Bomb Cosmetics to raise money for the SEA LIFE Trust to celebrate the launch of our new colony of 20 fairy penguins. It was fantastic to find a like-minded company in Dorset which is dedicated to reducing their plastic usage, and raising awareness of the dangers of litter to wildlife. We also know how passionate the public are about trying to protect the environment, so we are sure this will be a popular product.

“The SEA LIFE Trust relies on donations to fund global projects to protect sharks, turtles, dolphins, penguins and many other creatures. We are really grateful that Bomb Cosmetics has pledged to support us in this way.”

Robert Philpott, managing director of Bomb Cosmetics, added: “It is hugely important to us to protect our environment and run our business in a way which sets an example to others of how a business can be environmentally-friendly. We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to help raise awareness and funding for the SEA LIFE Trust, as it is important people and organisations continue to understand the results their decisions are having on the environment and our oceans.”

Weymouth SEA LIFE is the home to more than 1,000 creatures in 13 different zones containing Europe’s only colony of fairy penguins, which are the world’s smallest penguin. Visitors also have the opportunity to meet sharks, turtles and stingrays.

Guests are invited to learn all about the creatures which live in and around the sea and how we can work together to protect them from harm. Caribbean Cove is Dorset’s largest outdoor adventure playground, which offers hours of entertainment along with the park’s Splash Zone. Daily talks and feeding demonstrations are also held at the park to further educate guests about the different species which live at Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park.
