Bournemouth Air Festival gets first regional award for excellence
Having successfully established itself as a leading event throughout the region and the UK, the Bournemouth Air Festival has won its first award. Earlier this week representatives were presented with the 'Silver Tourism Event of the Year' for the 2010/11 at South West Tourism Excellence Awards.
Held at the Torquay Riviera International Conference Centre, the panel of judges praised the Air Festival as '…a substantial event with good marketing ideas'. The Festival narrowly missed out to The Times Cheltenham Literary Festival, but beat the Bath Christmas Market and Cornwall Food & Drink Festival.
Jon Weaver Air Festival Director said; "The awards celebrate 'the best in the South West' and we're delighted to be the recipient of the Silver category winner for 'Tourism Event of the Year'. It's a real credit to the hard-work that's involved year-round to stage the Festival - we'll try for gold next year!"
