Jack and the Beanstalk at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth
Kicking off the festive fun in true pantomime style, Jack and The Beanstalk has returned to Bournemouth until the Monday 2nd January.
Led by and all-star cast - and containing everything a traditional pantomime should - Jack the Courageous Hero is played by Deborah Stephenson; the evil and nasty Fleshcreep (Brian Capron); panto's favourite, Chris Jarvis, plays Jack's brother Silly Billy; The Good Fairy (Kate Weston); and one of the country's top panto dames, Nick Welton (better known as Mr Lister from EastEnders), plays Dame Trott.
Join Jack on his journey up the beanstalk - from selling daisy the cow, rescuing the princess to impress the king, climbing back down again and chopping up the beanstalk to kill the giant. With local gags and references to The Cherries, Boscombe surf reef and The Imax Cinema, there's lots to keep adults and kids equally entertained.
Jack and The Beanstalk has big musical numbers, top-notch performances and fantastic costumes. When the final curtain was drawn and the clapping and cheering had stopped, I could happily have gone out to spend a penny and bought another bag of sweets, and then gone straight back in for the next performance. Jack and the Beanstalk is a must-see show.
