Young carers get Easter Party thanks to Variety The Children’s Charity
Fifty lucky children from two local primary schools enjoyed a wonderful Easter party thanks to Variety The Children’s Charity. The festive event, for young carers aged five to ten, was held at the Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth. There was entertainment from the children’s favourite ‘Krazy Kev’ with magic tricks, dancing and even a real Easter rabbit. The hotel chefs provided yummy hot finger food, sandwiches and pretty cup cakes. Each child went home with a rather large chocolate Easter Egg.
Frances Cornelius, chair of Variety Wessex, said: “Thank you everyone who contributed to this fabulous party. It was such a pleasure to see so many smiley faces from these really wonderful children”.
Variety Wessex is a dedicated committee led by Chair and Secretary, Frances Cornelius. The committee organises a range of fundraising events across the year, including special talks, fashion shows and glamorous balls.
The funds raised enable the team to provide mobility aids, Sunshine Coaches and fun events and days out for the children and young people in the region who need our help.
The team members have an excellent relationship with the local performing arts community. They are very fortunate to be able to count, among their supporters, television impressionist Debra Stephenson, children’s TV presenter Chris Jarvis and actor Christopher Biggins.
