Chris Wheeler, award winning, Executive Chef at Stoke Park will be showcasing his culinary skills at Taste of the South Festival, Chapel Gate, Bournemouth, 21 & 22 July.
Visitors will be able to watch Chris demonstrate his skills and expertise on the Fisher and Paykel delicious stage where he promises to cook up a culinary delight. Following his demonstration, Chris will be signing copies of his debut cookbook – ‘The Ginger Chef Served up’.
Taste of the South will be held at Chapel Gate, by Bournemouth Airport over the weekend of July 21-22 and will showcase the South’s top talent in food, drink, art and culture.
Chris, who is originally from Swanage, says: “I’m delighted to be able to come home to Dorset and demonstrate at the Taste of the South Festival. I’m excited to be able to show people how to create a simple but stunning meal.”
Whilst continuing to manage the kitchens at Stoke Park, Chris started his consultancy and was appointed by Lamb and Wolf to advise on their chain of Dorset pubs and restaurants; The Angel in Poole and The Nothe Tavern & Kings Arms in Weymouth.
Chris is a familiar face on TV, appearing on Hell’s Kitchen 2 alongside Jean Christophe Novelli and more recently on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.
As Executive Chef at Stoke Park, Chris has turned Humphrey’s Restaurant into a 3 AA rosette serving innovative modern British cuisine. Chris has been awarded Hotel Chef of the Year Hotel Cateys 2016, Chef of the Year, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Life Food and Drink Awards 2016 and Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year for Humphry’s, Buckinghamshire Food and Drink Awards 2016

This year, for the first time, we have three demonstration areas, with a the Broil King BBQ demonstrations, and in the two Fisher and Paykel areas we have Shelina Permallo Masterchef Winner; Charlotte White, Creative Baker and Glamorous Retro-Style Author of Restoration Cake, and Nick Evans, Head Chef Lecturer at Rick Stein’s Cookery School in Padstow, Cornwall.
Back by popular demand are Pete Murt, Head Chef at Rick Stein Sandbanks; Mark Hartstone, from La Fosse at Cranborne, Asian food expert Sarah Ali Choudhury and Matt Budden, Executive Chef for Hilton Bournemouth and Schpoons & Forx Restaurant.
For the first time we have Christian Orner – the Chocolate Chef, Asian Chef Andy Chu, and James Coward, from Les Bouviers Restaurant and Rooms, Wimborne, and Manash Choudhary from Hotel Collingwood.
Demonstrating all over the weekend are Clover Hutson, one of the country’s leading masterclass demonstrators for every age group, will be cooking in the Fisher & Paykel kitchen on July 21 and 22 as award-winning writer author and TV presenter,Richard ‘Foxy’ Fox, will also be hosting BBQ masterclasses on the Broil King stage.
