The multi-award winning Gin House Wimborne will open their doors at the new location on Church Street on the May Bank Holiday weekend .
The venue is triple the size of the original bar in West Borough and will feature over 200 new gins and a private gin tasting experience room.
Owners Kate and Gordon Compston have retained the much-loved prohibition theme in the spacious Grade II Listed building, which is seeing a substantial investment into repairs and fit out. The new bar will offer a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, comfortable, chilled out nooks, and a bar and waitress service from a bespoke handmade bar, constructed by locally based craftsmen. Expect to find small batch and limited run gins alongside rare and flavoured tonic waters with an emphasis on eccentric, complementing garnishes.
A prominent feature of the new location will be the exclusive, private hire tasting room: an indulgent environment created to showcase gin tuition and tasting scenarios perfect for corporate and private events. Catering for predominately groups, it will offer an intimate ‘behind the scenes’ package with bespoke menus designed by their experienced, house mixologists led by Aidan and his team. Placing guests at the hands of Dorset’s most experienced and well-seasoned beverage professionals, with one off product placements, cocktail listings and esoteric ingredients.
Said Kate Compston Owner of the Gin House and Taphouse, “We are so excited to launch our new Gin House in its brand new location just off the Square, and showcase what the new space has to offer. We have had a great response to relocating and feel very much a valued part of the community here in Wimborne. Our expansion is due to popular demand thanks to our loyal customer base.
We welcome everyday drinkers, gin connoisseurs, and visitors to come along and visit us from the May Bank Holiday onwards. We offer other drinks as well as gins, serving a range of spirits, alongside wines and craft beers. Our new bar is a great place for anyone who is new to gin as well as those spirited types who really know their gins and want to try something new.”
